Tour Details

There is a famous phrase “When in Rome, do as the Romans do” the same way when you are in India it is always advisable to explore the city like an Indian. This way you have an opportunity to understand the local culture and common people of the country. The purpose of this tour is to give you first-hand exposure to Indian Culture and believes.

The day starts with an introduction to our specialized guide at your hotel or at your residence. After a brief introduction, start your day with a unique Delhi tour by very safe local transport.

You will walk or take a green auto rickshaw also known as Tuk-tuk, which runs on Compressed Natural Gas, to the nearest metro station. Once you arrived at the metro station you will hop on to the humble Delhi metro and start your ride to Old Delhi. On arrival at old Delhi, come out of the metro station. While coming out of the metro station, experience the difference between New and Old Delhi. The Hustle and bustle of Old Delhi overwhelm your mind. After a short walk through the narrow lanes, reach the main road and board the cycle rickshaw and ride till Jama Masjid. Originally known as “Masjid-i- Jahan Numa” meaning mosque commanding view of the world, spend some time at one of the largest mosques in India. It can accommodate approximately twenty-five thousand devotees during prayer.

After the visit to this beautiful mosque made of red sandstone and marble, we proceed to experience the local market. Our first stop will be at Dariba Kalan (the silver market) where most of the shops deal in one of the finest silver ornaments and Ittar (a special kind of perfume which is not an alcohol base but oil-based perfume). The shops are run by the fourth or fifth generation. Later we will proceed to Kinari Bazaar (Wedding Market) and our last stop in old Delhi will be at Paranthewali Galli (Lane of Parathas, Parathas means stuffed bread) very famous among food lovers. If you wish you can also taste some parathas.

Later we will take the cycle rickshaw to the famous Red Fort for a quick orientation of the Fort, followed by a drop at the nearest metro station. Deboard metro near Delhi main Post office and then drive past the Lutyens Bungalow Zone, witnessing the grand bungalows with large gardens in the heart of the city. This will lead us to Rajpath, where we will see the President's House, Parliament House, Secretariat, and the famous India Gate. The tour ends at India Gate.
